Location

Yarramba is located at 1760 Dry Plains Road, between Cooma and Adaminaby, in the south east of New South Wales.

Location of Yarramba on Dry Plains Road:

 

Directions from Cooma (approximately 30 minutes):

  • Take the Snowy Mountains Highway west out of Cooma, following signs to Berridale and Jindabyne
  • After approximately 3kms turn right onto Dry Plains Road (signposted)
  • Follow Dry Plains Road for approximately 20kms over 4 cattle grids (first 5kms are bitumen, then keep left and onto 15kms of gravel road)
  • Yarramba is situated on the right hand side of the road – look out for our sign and the yards of horses

Alternatively, to reduce the distance travelled on gravel road:

  • Take the Snowy Mountains Highway west out of Cooma
  • After approximately 30kms turn right onto the other end of Dry Plains Road (signposted)
  • Follow Dry Plains Road for approximately 11kms over 2 cattle grids (first 5kms are bitumen, then 6kms of gravel road)
  • After approximately 9kms you drive past a yellow house on the right and a large shearing shed on the left, then there are a few sharp bends in the road as it winds downhill
  • Yarramba is shortly after, situated on the left hand side of the road – look out for our sign and the yards of horses

Directions from Adaminaby (approximately 30 minutes):

  • Take the Snowy Mountains Highway east out of Adaminaby, following signs to Cooma
  • After approximately 18kms turn left onto Dry Plains Road (signposted)
  • Follow Dry Plains Road for approximately 11kms over 2 cattle grids (first 5kms are bitumen, then 6kms of gravel road)
  • After approximately 9kms you drive past a yellow house on the right and a large shearing shed on the left, then there are a few sharp bends in the road as it winds downhill
  • Yarramba is shortly after, situated on the left hand side of the road – look out for our sign and the yards of horses

Directions from Jindabyne (approximately 45-60 minutes):

  • Take the Kosciuszko Road east out of Jindabyne for 27kms, following signs to Berridale
  • After 27kms, turn left (but still on the Koscuiszko Road) into Berridale
  • Approximately 1.5kms after Berridale, turn left onto the Middlingbank Road, following signs to Eucumbene and Buckenderra
  • Follow the Middlingbank Road for 30kms, going straight over two crossroads (one after 6kms and another after 20kms)
  • After 30kms turn left onto the Snowy Mountains Highway
  • After 6kms, turn right onto Dry Plains Road (signposted)
  • Follow Dry Plains Road for approximately 11kms over 2 cattle grids (first 5kms are bitumen, then 6kms of gravel road)

Directions from Thredbo (approximately 60 minutes):

  • Take the Alpine Way east out of Thredbo, following signs to Jindabyne
  • Remain on the Alpine Way all the way to Jindabyne, a distance of 32kms
  • From there, follow the directions from Jindabyne given above

Directions from Canberra (approximately 1.5-2 hours):

  • Take the Monaro Highway south out of Canberra, following signs to Cooma
  • From Cooma take the Snowy Mountains Highway west, following signs to Berridale and Jindabyne
  • After approximately 3kms turn right onto Dry Plains Road (signposted)
  • Follow Dry Plains Road for approximately 20kms over 4 cattle grids (first 5kms are bitumen, then keep left onto 15kms of gravel road)
  • Yarramba is situated on the right hand side of the road – look out for our sign and the yards of horses

Directions from Sydney (approximately five hours):

  • Follow the Hume Highway from Sydney then just south of Goulburn take the Federal Highway and travel south to Canberra
  • From there, follow the directions from Canberra given above

Public Transport options to Cooma:

It is easy to reach Cooma using public transport from the major cities. From Cooma you need to hire a car to reach Yarramba, following the directions given above.
